Mount Kailash

Dirapuk Monastery
Dirapuk Monastery is one of the most spiritual attractions point of Kailash Parvat Yatra, travelers can have the closest view of mount Kailash north face from this place. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) had mediated here, and his footprint can still be seen in a rock. The monastery also holds thangkas (Tibetan Buddhist Paintings). Zuthulphuk Monastery
The final monastery on the kora before our return to Saga on our Kailash parvat Tour, Zuthulphuk Monastery stands at an elevation of 4,670 meters. In Tibetan it means “cave of miracles,” referring to legends. After the tough climb over Dolma La Pass (5,630 meters), Zuthulphuk has better accommodations option during this trek.
Dolma La Pass
Dolma La Pass is the highest point of the Kailash Kora at 5,650 meters above sea level. Dolma La is an incredibly powerful for those on pilgrimage adi kailash yatra. The climb up to Dolma La is steep and strenuous; it’s common for pilgrims to undertake this section in the early morning hours in order to pass over the heights before weather patterns change in the afternoon. Upon reaching the top of Dolma La, you will witness prayer flags and mesmerizing views of Himalayan ranges till your eyes can see. According to Hindu mythology a lake that inhabits a presence linked with wife of lord shiva - Parvati.
Tarboche and Yama Dwar
Tarboche, a short drive from Darchen, is renowned for its enormous prayer flagpole and marks the trailhead of the Kailash Kora. Every Saga Dawa (the fourth month of the Tibetan calendar), the pole is lowered and then re-erected. This event attracts pilgrims from all over Tibet. Yama Dwar, which means “The Gate of the Lord of Death,” is located near Tarboche. It is represented by a simple chorten (Buddhist wayside shrine), which pilgrims pass before entering Kailash’s sacred domain. Here, blessings are often gathered in preparation for what lies ahead on this demanding circumambulation. At this spot, you will get one of your first great views south towards the southern face of Mount Kailash, as well as a view down the valley.
Kailash Glaciers
The glaciers located at the height of 5,200m and 5,700m, respectively, feed into three of Asia’s most holy rivers – Indus, Sutlej, and Brahmaputra. Detail Itinerary
DAY 01: ARRIVAL KATHMANDU
Upon arrival in Tribhuvan international airport at Kathmandu, our staff will welcome you with rudrakshya mala with complimentary mineral water bottle in the vehicle. Then we will transfer to Hotel and check into room and be refresh & relax. In the evening, you will have dinner in hotel & you will be given information on next day program by our tour leader.
Optional: If anybody are interested to take an hour Mount Everest Flight on next day morning, should book and confirm with us by this evening. Normally, the flight operates from 6.15 am to 10 am, and you should prepare in the hotel before 1 hour 15 minutes ahead to leave airport for reporting 45 minutes before departure time at least.

DAY 02: KATHMANDU SIGHTSEEING TOUR
Morning breakfast start from 6 am to 10 am in the hotel. Today you will have sightseeing program in the morning started by 8 am to 1 pm. You will, visit Pashupatinath temple (the biggest Hindu temple) and Budhanilkantha temple (the tallest sleeping Vishnu). Lunch at 1 pm in hotel. Then you are free for your tour preparation. In the evening at 5.30 PM we will call for short briefing program on Kailash journey following by introduction and assist for money exchange & down jacket distribution.

DAY 03: DRIVE JOURNEY TO DHUNCHE (2000 m.) OR SYABRUBESI (1600 m.)
Early morning wake up with breakfast at 6.00 am and prepare to leave by 6.30 am to Rasuwagadhi border. On the way at Trishuli bazaar, you will be stop for lunch break in highway restaurant and will continue our journey further ahead. You can wonder around beautiful scenery with great landscape of village and mountains around you. The whole journey is with beautiful scenic view along through Trishuli River. Dhunche or Syabrubesi are alike base camp of Langtang for the trekkers to begin their trekking to Langtang National Park region. Both small towns are little developed with facilities of guesthouses, restaurants, banks, hospitals, school etc. We will reach at Syabrubesi and check into room and stay overnight at lodge (basic accommodation). And sometimes, if the accommodation is not available at Syabrubesi, we will stay at Timure with further short drive from Syabrubesi.

DAY 04: DRIVE TO RASUWAGADHI (1800 m.) AND KYIRONG IN TIBET (2900 m.)
Today also you should wake up early morning and have breakfast then prepare to begin our ultimate destination to Tibet region by 7.30 am. You will feel the little strict region being lots of checking points by army & police on the way from Dhunche to Rasuwagadhi. We will reach Rasuwagadhi border by 8.30 am and proceed for Tibet entry following the formalities of immigration & customs in both sides of country. Our representative will assist us for immigration in Nepal side and then we proceed to China by walk (15 min) crossing through Friendship Bridge. All group members should follow in queue with their respective passport serial number as per visa while passing through immigration in China side. We will be receive by our Tibetan guide in China immigration, complete immigration formalities, get in our Tibet side bus then proceed to Kyirong town.
It takes approximately an hour to reach Kyirong town where our hotel accommodation is allocated by guide. Check into hotel and rest. Lunch and dinner will be in dining hall at hotel.

DAY 05: DRIVE, KYIRONG TO SAGA (4300 m.)
Here your day begins with full of excitement for leading your way towards ultimate destination Kailash. Hereafter, your daily routine will be similar with breakfast prepare by 7 am and leave your camp to next destination by 10 am the latest. Today our journey head to Saga, en route we will have opportunity to Ganesh Parbat & Lake Peiku Tso then eventually cross the bridge built over River Brahmaputra (also called Yarlung Tsangpo in Chinese) in Saga. You will have lunch break before high pass of Kyirong county then continue drive further to Saga with nice landscape view of snow capped mountains, villages, yak herders and small river. Dinner and Overnight in Guesthouse.

DAY 06: DRIVE, SAGA TO LAKE MANSASAROVAR (CHIU GOMPA) – 4600 m.
Today is the highlighted day of this journey. We are going to reach the holy Lake “Manasarovar & Mt. Kailash” which is our ultimate goal. Hence, we set off our journey the earliest possible by 6 to 7 am so that we can reach in Manasarovar by early afternoon for great timing to take bath in warm sun rather than being late to take bath with chill wind started by late afternoon. On the way, we will drive through the highest motorable pass of this journey (Mayum-La; 5200 m.). Moreover, we will have to pass through check point formalities in Mayumla & in Manasarovar so we should keep some space for this.
Lunch will be served somewhere near Horchu River, before the Mayum-La pass. On lucky day, we have good opportunity to have darshan of Mt. Kailash from Manasarovar base camp where we have to change our vehicle to travel Kailash region. Here we have to wait some while for bus and that spare time will be use for praying and having darshan of Mt. Kailash & Manasarovar. We will be given quick 30 min for holy dip in Lake Manasarovar at safe & good shore on the way depending upon time & weather permission. Today we will make Parikrama of Lake Manasarovar by 70% of its circular and stay overnight in Chiu Gompa camp. Enroute parikrama of Lake Manasarovar, we will also see another beautiful fresh water lake called Rakshas Tal, the demon lake created by Lanka king Rawan with crescent moon shape. Dinner & overnight stay will be at guesthouse near the shore of Lake Manasarovar.

DAY 07: LAKE MANASAROVAR & THEN DRIVE TO DARCHEN (4700 m)
Today you will have plenty time for Puja / Hawan and holy bath in Lake Manasarovar, the lake created by Brahma in his mind. You will have breakfast in the morning at basic time. Some of you can also go hike for Chiu Gompa visit reside in the top of hill close from camp. Today our cook will try best to serve additional variety in lunch than of previous day to feel you delight. After lunch, we will drive to Darchen, the base camp of Mt. Kailash where we will stay an overnight in order to prepare for trekking around Mt. Kailash. Similarly, you can also spectacle snow capped mountain range of Gurla Mandata and Rakshas Tal once again. You can stroll around small market of Darchen town in the late afternoon.

DAY 08: START PARIKRAMA TO DERAPHUK (4950 m.)
Morning after breakfast drive to Sherson near Yama Dwar. From Yama Dwar, you will start trekking to Diraphuk (north face of Kailash). One can blessed with ultimate darshan of Mt. Kailash south face from Yamadwar. The pilgrims who are unable to make Kora of Mt. Kailash will pray and make thrice circular of Yamadwar in the name of Lord Shiva & Parbati and return to Darchen waiting for other trekkers till 3rd day.
For trekkers going Kora will begin after Yamadwar & Kailash darshan by walk or riding horse. Horse will be available on pre-booking and horse riders will choose their horse & horseman by picking up coupon which should not be lost until the service end. Today the trekking is moderate walk with flat trails and gradual up following Glacier River alongside. On the mid way, we will halt for a while at tea shop for pack lunch. Then continue slight uphill trek to Diraphuk camp with stunning glimpse of north face of Mt. Kailash. Also, those trekkers or pilgrims who reach camp earlier and fit by health may also go further walk to uphill for Charan Sparsh from camp if army permits.
Note: Those travelers/yatris joining the departure date with (R) denotes Return Full Moon will continue the trekking (Kailash Kora) to Zuthulphuk.

* Yama Dwar to Diraphuk – 15 km (5 hrs) trek
DAY 09: TREK SHIVASTHAL – GAURIKUNDA – ZUTHULPHUK (4850 m.)
This is the toughest day of parikrama. You have to wake up 4 am early in the morning and start trek by 5 am without forgetting to carry pack lunch. The journey right from the beginning starts going uphill till to Dolma-La (5600 m.) about 4-5 hours then continue descending to the flat valley region, the other side of Dolma-la pass. You will find Shivasthal at Dolma la covered by prayer flags and different offers by prayers like clothings & ornaments.
Descending steep down from high pass, you will be lucky to sight beautiful holy lake – Gauri Kunda at the right side underneath of hill. After continue sloping down, you will cross short glacier path and then will find tea shop for lunch break at plain valley. Then after continue easy walk on flat trail but tedious with feel of similar landscape around and never ending. The last leg of the journey is along with the River Bank, up to Zuthulphuk. The high light of the day are Shivasthal, Dolma-La and Gauri Kunda which are on the way.

DAY 10: END TREK THEN DRIVE TO SAGA
Today, the trail is easy & flat, so you will complete the journey within 2 to 3 hours. We will be picked up at the ending point near Darchen by our vehicle, then transferred to Darchen, here you will get lunch and continue to Saga along with all group members. You will have last opportunity to view Lake Manasarovar on the way while seeing off Kailash region. We will be drop off at Manasarovar bus stand by Eco Green Bus of Ngari region and will shift to another private bus from Lhasa. Then our journey will retrace back through same way.

DAY 11: RETURN BACK TO KYIRONG
Return back to Kyirong via the same route.

DAY 12: RETURN BACK TO KATHMANDU
Morning after early breakfast drive down to Rasuwagadhi border, cross over the Friendship Bridge then drive back to Kathmandu. Lunch will be served in Syabrubesi. Evening dinner and rest at hotel.
